I've been shut in for the past few days.
Not that it's been snowing heavily out, but just because transportation has been limited. I am, however, enjoying my last week(s) of time out here in Michigan. Seeing as how I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back out here again, I'm enjoying spending time with the fam. For the first time in three years, I'll be able to take part in the birthday celebrations of my parents and of my eldest brother, Daniel. Also, I have enjoyed spending time with Daniel's boys, Alden (8), Drake (6), and Nolan (3), my youngest nephews.
Andrew has also been out here since New Year's Eve. We only really spent two weeks apart before we couldn't take it any more. .... I think we're in trouble. The good kind, of course! I really am thankful he's out here. Just his presence makes everything better! It also makes me try to figure out a way back to Philadelphia sooner. So I'll be heading back ahead of schedule.
A few interesting things I discovered today.
1) Toddlers act like cats when it comes to frantically chasing down laser pointers for no apparent reason. They also don't like it touching them, either.
2) When a kid is interested in all of your art supplies and calls them, "cool," it gives me the inspiration I need to get out of my slump and draw.
Did I? Sadly, no. Life got in the way, as well as a certain three year old who was asking me where the "fire" went that he was chasing earlier. And before I knew it, it's time to wind down. I can't keep my long hours like I did before with the boys having to get up so early in the morning...
